SpaceX’s Stock IPO on June 12th, 2026 was the largest US IPO ever (by valuation). The stocks initial IPO price was $135 a share. We will examine the details of the initial public offer, and learn more about the lockup periods that may increase supply and future dilute the shares, which may lead to a reduction in price (all things equal) once more shares enter the market.

Nasdaq Listing “Fast Entry”
SpaceX was granted a unique exception when listing. On May 1st, 2026, the Nasdaq-100 adopted a new rule where those listings whose market cap ranked in the top 40 were allowed to join the index after just 15 trading days. This is commonly referred to as “Fast Entry”.
Without “Fast Entry” a company would normally require a period of stabilization of about 3-months. Then depending on the IPO date, the company would have to wait for Nasdaq’s annual reconstitution which occurs in December.
